Federal government has through the National Emergency Management
Agency, NEMA, donated building materials to Anambra state government
to support the rebuilding of the section of Mgbuka Obosi Spare Parts
Market guttered by fire in January this year.

Government House Correspondent, Emmanuel Okonkwo reports that materials donated by the federal government include nine hundred and
thirty bags of Cement, nine hundred and thirty Celine boards, nine
hundred and thirty bundles of Zinc and roofing nails.

Handing over the materials to the state government at the State
Emergency Management Agency, SEMA, the Director General of National
Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, Retired Air Vice Marshal Muhammadu
A. Muhammadu, represented by the South East Zonal Coordinator of the
Agency, Mr. Fred Anwusim said the federal government donated the items
to assist Anambra state government in the rebuilding of the market to
cushion the effects of the ugly incident on the traders.

Receiving the materials, Governor Willie Obiano, represented by his
Deputy, Dr Nkem Okeke, appreciated the federal government for the
support saying that such gesture will go a long way in rebuilding the
section of the market affected by the inferno.

The Governor however expressed hope that Anambra state will keep
receiving help from the federal government when necessary.

On his part, the chairman of Mgbuka Obosi Spare Parts Market, Chief
Samuel Ezeobodo thanked both the state and federal governments for
supporting the traders since after the incident and promised judicious
use of the materials.

Also present during the event, were the Executive Director of Anambra
State Emergency Management Agency, Mr. Cyprian Agupugo and the
Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Anambra State
Fire Service, Air Vice Marshal Ben Chiobi among others.
