Residents of Ofia-egbene Agu Awka have lost access to their
homes following a heavy rain fall that got the whole area flooded.
Correspondent, Valentine Mbadugha reports that the chairman,
Ofia-egbene Landlords Association, Chief Ifeanyi Okechukwu, appealed
for proper and adequate drainages to control the heavy flood entering
the area.
He called on the state government to urgently pay attention to the
area and protect the lives and property of residents.
Some residents of the area, including Pastor Sam and Mrs. Chinyere
Maduagwuna, noted that they have individually and collectively done
what they could to control the situation, but declared that it has gone beyond their capacity.
ABS also observed that some high tension poles were badly affected by
the flood, thereby posing a risk to lives of residents.
