Anambra State transporters have expressed readiness to comply with COVID-19 protocols by government to ensure safety and guard against the spread of the pandemic following the lifting of interstate movement by the Federal Government.

With the lifting of the ban on interstate movement, ABS correspondent, Emengini Osadebe, who visited some parks in the commercial city of Onitsha, reports business boom and life full of activities.

Parks visited include Lagos, Abuja, Enugu, Rivers, Abia States parks and Bridge Head, Onitsha among others.

Passengers were seen boarding vehicles to their various destinations under strict adherence to COVID-19 safety modalities.
Some of the park managers, who spoke to ABS, including Mr. Benedict Ibezimako of Lagos Park and Mr. Felix Ikejiaku of Enugu Park expressed joy over the lifting of the ban on the interstate movement as most of them, who are working in the parks have stayed at home for the past three to four months without adequate resources to meet their families’ needs.

On their parts, Mr. Kingsley Ugwuja of Ebonyi State Park and Mr. Peter Orji of Rivers State Park described the lifting of the ban as prayer answered for the poor masses, especially those, whose businesses have been stopped for long due to interstate lockdown and promised to comply with the safety guards.

One of the passengers travelling to Isuochi, Abia State, Mr. Chiemeka Lekwauwa heaved a sigh of relief that he can now travel to unite with his family.

Meanwhile, the gridlock that characterized the Bridge Head Onitsha since the ban had disappeared with vehicles freely moving in and out of Onitsha.
