Despite Anambra State Government warning and sanctions attached to non-wearing and improper placement of facemasks, some residents of the commercial city of Onitsha have devised another means of abusing wearing of the facemasks which is one of the safety protocols against COVID-19.
Staff reporter Blessing Ijedibia on her way to the office observed that the defaulters now tie their facemasks on their hands with the aid of the facemasks elastic cord.
The defaulters on sighting law enforcement agents will quickly place the facemasks properly.
Condemning the act, a driver plying Nkpor-Upper-Iweka axis, Mr. Sunday Nwachukwu-Odo, appealed to the public to adhere to state government’s directive on safety protocols.
Meanwhile some residents of Onitsha have appealed to the state government to fish out fake COVID-19 taskforce that roam the street of Onitsha.
