The effort of Anambra State Government in ensuring food security and
sufficiency through the introduction of ugbo azu uno scheme is
yielding the desired result-as Ndi Anambra especially those in the
urban areas heeded the State governments call for all hands to be on
deck to ensure food sufficiency.
Mrs Chinwe Oranugo at Akala Etiti Village Umuoji in Idemili North
Local Government area who resides in Onitsha said she heeded the State
government’s call and participated in this year’s farming as she was
seen with her children perfecting on the first stage of Cocoayam
weeding.
The son Makua Chukwu Oranugo said as a youth it is his duty to assist
the mother in farming activities.
Mrs Rose Onyima who was also seen with her little son said farmers
don’t lack as they make profit from farm produce.
At Eke Umuoji fresh farm produce of early harvest like vegetables of
different types flooded the Market while buyers from Onitsha converged
to purchase.
