Sequel to state governments’ directive for an aggressive testing of
people for early detection of Coronavirus and increased awareness on
strict observation of its protocols, most people are yet to strictly
observe the protocols, especially proper wearing of facemasks
Correspondent, Theophilus Ukoha, reports that among the motor parks,
markets, and villages visited, including Abagana, Oyeagu-Abagana, Afor
Idengeri Nawfia, Okpuno and Mgbakwu, compliance is still very low.

Though some of the defaulters refused to speak to the press, some
market leaders, traditional rulers and Presidents General, still
sustained the campaign and sensitization of their subjects on the
dangers of Coronavirus and the need for voluntary testing.

The traditional ruler of Abagana, Igwe Mbamalu Okeke and his Okpuno
town counterpart, Igwe Sunday Okafor said they have setup various
committees to ensure that all COVID-19 protocols are strictly observed
adding that voluntary testing for early detection will go a long way
in curbing the spread of the virus.

The chairman, Oyeagu Market Abagana, Mr. Ugochukwuv Nwoka, the Head of
Service, Njikoka local government, Comrade Jerry Nnubia and the
President General, Mgbakwu Town Union, Mr. Edwin Udefuna, who frowned
on how some people have refused to obey simple health protocols,
applauded Governor Willie Obiano for facilitating the establishment of
a testing center at Amaku General Hospital.
