The need to support service to humanity came to the fore during the installation of Rotarian Abuchi Nwozor of the Anambra Broadcasting Service, ABS, as the eleventh President of Rotary Club of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, District 9142.

The event held in Awka, attracted people from all works of life. While kicking off the installation ceremony, the immediate past President of the club, Rotarian Kanayo Obidigbo, said that the Club in the past one year had ensured that the society was served in accordance with Rotary Club mission of service to humanity.

Reading the citation of Rotarian Abuchi, Chief IG Ekwueme, who also delivered a lecture on the theme, ‘Rotary opens opportunities,” x-rayed the activities of Rotary Club stating that it connects one point two million people across over two hundred countries of the world.

Later in an interview, the chairman on the occasion and the state Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Mr. Andrew Kumapayi, and the state chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Comrade Emma Ifesinachi, affirmed that Rotarian Abuchi would not disappoint the Club.
Some of his colleagues, including Dr Emeka Arinze and Mr. Emma Mmadu expressed confidence that the new president has what it takes to take the club to an enviable height.

In an inaugural speech, Rotarian Abuchi while appreciating the Club for the confidence reposed in him, pledged to put in all his best.
The wife of the new President, Mrs. Ginika Nwozor, thanked God for her husband’s new status expressing optimism that he will deliver as expected.

The event featured oath taking by Rotarian Nwozor, induction of new members, cutting of cake and presentation of awards.
