Despite having only three months to deliver its mandate of putting Anambra State on the map of football in Nigeria and conducting an election for the substantive board of the Football Association, the Caretaker Committee of Anambra Football Association seems not to be resting on its oars to develop and build partnerships that will take football in Anambra state to the desired height.

At a media briefing in Awka, the Chairman of the Committee, Dr Emeka Okeke, updated the press on the plans already put in place by the FA in the ten days of the committee’s existence.
David Okpokwasili reports that one of such plans is a grassroots football development campaign called “My Anambra Football” which according to Dr Okeke is meant to develop football at the grassroots, engage stakeholders and invite more investors into football sector across the state.
Dr Okeke, therefore, invited sponsors of community football tournaments to become part of the football development in the State, saying that the Anambra FA has opened doors for anyone who is ready to drive football development in the State.

On the election of a substantive Board of Anambra FA, the Caretaker Committee Chairman explained that the Committee is working with the Electoral Committee to ensure that all stakeholders including coaches, footballers and Referees are involved in selecting the leadership of the FA instead of a culture of micromanaging such election process.
The Committee also revealed plans to boost Beach Soccer in Anambra state.
The Coordinator, Anambra Beach Soccer Development Committee, Dr Dozie Okpalaugo, explained that the Committee is still engaging on advocacies and sensitization as it is still a new area which has not been explored in Anambra.

Also at the press conference were representatives of Juventus Football Academy Nigeria who through their Country Manager, Mr Olajide Ajayi revealed the plans of the Academy in providing technical support to the FA, in coach education, training and development of footballers and referees in the State.
Present also at the press conference was a former Super Falcons player who has now been appointed Anambra State Football Soccer Ambassador, Maureen Madu.
