Christians believe that marriage is a gift from God and as such should not be taken for granted.
In line with this Doris Ubanwe from Inyi in Oji River Local Government Area of Enugu state and Moses Anene from Nibo in Awka South Local Government Area , Anambra state , over the weekend drew family members, friends and the general public to the solemnization of their holy matrimony.
The wedding ceremony which took place at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, Nibo in Awka South local government area saw the newly wedded couples profess their love to each other in marital vows, promising to be with and for each other forever . In his homily during the service, a visiting Priest, Reverend Father Casmir Osigwe said that they should make their homes an arena of God’s wisdom, describing marriage as a fulfilling experience for those who understand each other.
According to the Catholic priest, marriage is all about choice, commitment and love and could be made a bed of roses through channeling all their decisions to God at all times for a fruitful and happy home.
Speaking shortly after the wedding mass, the Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Senator Uche Ekwunife said that the couple are trusted and reliable sons of the state and advised the youths to embrace positive life style and hard work . In their congratulatory messages to the newly couple, the President General of Nibo Community Engineer Innocent Akuvure, the Sponsor of the wedding, Mr. Emeka Okonkwo and a friend of the couple, Chief Ugochukwu Okeke prayed for the couple to make a good home, as they have laid a good foundation for future happiness.
Appreciating their guests, the new couple, Mr. and Mrs. Anene who were full of excitement expressed gratitude to God for such a feat achieved in their lives and thanked all for their support and show of love despite the hard times of Coronavirus pandemic, praying God to continue to bless them.
Other dignitaries present during the taking of marital vows includes, the traditional rulers led by the traditional ruler of Nibo Igwe Michael Ngene, serving and past House of Assembly members, a Philanthropist, Mr. Godwin Ezemo, Managing Director and Chief Executive of Anambra Broadcasting Service, Chief Uche Nworah were present at the ceremony of joining of hands of Mr. And Mrs. Moses Anene.
