The ongoing Awka Diocesan Women’s Conference, ADWOC, has charged women to be firm in their faith in God despite life challenges.


The Conference, presided over by the Archbishop, Eccliastical Province of The Niger and Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Reverend Alexander Ibezim, is the thirty-fourth in the series and holding at the All Saints’ Anglican Church Ukpo, Dunukofia Council Area.


The Conference with the theme “Be still and know that I am God, I will be exalted among the nation’s, I will be exalted on the earth”, has in attendance the President, Mother’s Union, Women’s and Girl’s Guild, Province of The Niger and Diocese of Awka, Mrs. Martha Ibezim, wives of Bishops and other members of the clergy, Lady Knights of the church and host of others, who converged to chart ways for better tomorrow.


In a sermon, Most Reverend Ibezim, who described the church as the hope of all nations since governments have not been able to encouraged women to embrace God , noting that women have continued to rescue the church.
In her speech, the Governor’s wife, Dr Ebelechukwu Obiano represented by the former chairman of the Post Primary Schools Service Commission, Lady Joy Ulasi asked the women to be alive to their responsibilities in nurturing and molding their ward’s, lamenting the ugly stories of rape in the society and urged mother’s to double their efforts in ensuring that sanity is restored.


One of the parishioners and Director, UNIZIK FM Awka, Professor Stella Okunna said the Conference aims at redirecting women on the current trends and techniques of guarding their homes.


In his speech, the chairman of the ADWOC 2020, Group Captain Benson Okoye retired, said that women are endowed with special virtues and are the pillars of every home and advised them to be wise in all their dealings.
Most Reverend Ibezim use the opportunity to pronounce the Vicar of the church, Reverend Sunday Ikeh as Canon, while breaking of ADWOC cake and decoration of 2020 Profile Mother, Lady Lizzy Okeke featured in the event.
