Sir Emeka Offor Foundation has donated medical equipment, supplies and drugs worth billions of naira to twenty-one medical institutions across the country in the second phase of its 2020 empowerment of hospitals.
Each of the medical institutions received medical equipment, supplies and medicines worth between eighty-five and one hundred million naira.

some of the benefitting health institutions include: Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital, Nnewi, University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, Ituku-Ozalla, Alex Ekwueme Federal University Teaching Hospital, Ndufu-Alike Ebonyi State, Nigerian Medical Army Corps and University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital, Rivers State among others.
Sir Emeka Offor Foundation, a charitable, non-governmental and not-for-profit Organization, was founded in 1996 with a vision to reduce poverty, create life improving economic opportunities for those residing in Nigeria’s Communities through education, healthcare services, youth empowerment, and infrastructural development.
The Founder, Sir Emeka Offor represented by his Chief of Staff, retired Assistant Inspector General of Police, Chris Ezike said the intervention, which is in support of governments’ effort, is driven by the vision that a healthier population will guarantee a more economically productive society.
In their separate remarks, the Minority Leader, Anambra State House of Assembly and member representing Ekwusigo Constituency, Honourable Onyebuchi Offor and Sir Emeka Offor Foundation Co-coordinator, Sir Tonny Obi described the vision of the founder as one that will bring faster health services closer to the people while understanding that tertiary health institutions are the centers of excellence in health care delivery.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, the Chief Medical Director, Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital, Nnewi, Professor Anthony Igwegbe, represented by Dr Ogochukwu Ezejiofor and Pharmacist Bello Idachaba of Federal Medical Centre, Jalingo, Taraba State, bemoaned the situation of health institutions in the country affirming that the donation will improve healthcare access in their various health institutions.
Formal handover of medical equipment, supplies and medicines to representatives of the benefiting institutions formed the highpoint of the event.
