The people of Amakor Njikoka village Nanka, in Orumba North Council Area, have commended Governor Willie Obiano for entrenching lasting peace and strong security architecture in Anambra state.

They made the commendations during a media briefing in Awka, during which disclosed that the peaceful co-existence initiated by the
governor is being thwarted by some individuals in their community.

Correspondent, Ngozi Obileri was at the briefing and reports that while speaking on behalf of Amakor Njikoka village Nanka, the chairman of the village Mr Obinna Ilo, explained that the community is far from having peace as insinuated by new leadership of the community.

Mr Ilo whose release was read by Mr Chiemelie Okoli, regretted that few individuals have hijacked the peace enthroned by Governor Obiano by turning the constitution of the community upside down.

Mr Ilo noted that until they go back to dialogue and follow the constitution, all claims that there is peace in the community amount to pretence.

He recalled that according to their constitution, Amakor village was supposed to produce the traditional prime minister of the community, as the next village that will produce the next traditional ruler, but surprisingly, Nanka Patriotic Union went behind them to choose Onowu from another village.

He said that they have done everything possible to return peace to their community, which proved abortive and called on state government to wade in and put an end to the situation.

While noting that they have sought justice in the court of law to interpret the constitution, they said that they will continue to abide by the constitution of the community as peace loving people.
