Aguluezechukwu community, in Aguata Local Government Area was filled with testimonies of the positive impacts of a renowned philanthropist, late Chief Mrs. Patricia Chukwuma as her body was laid to rest.
Her burial mass, which took place at St Peters’ Catholic Church Aguluezechukwu, attracted people from all walks of life, who testified to the life and times of late Chief Mrs. Chukwuma, who was notable in Lagos for her numerous awards of scholarships to deserving individuals.
Correspondent, Chidinma Ikeanyionwu was there and reports that late Chief Mrs. Chukwuma from Enugu-Umuonyia village, Aguluezechukwu, died at the age of seventy-three, a mother of six children, who until her death, was an educationist, renowned philanthropist, dedicated member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus society, Festac Town Lagos and a peaceful woman.
The late Chief Mrs. Chukwuma retired as a Director at the Lagos State Ministry of Education.
In his homily during her burial mass, a visiting Priest, Reverend Father Jude Uwakwe, identified love and charity as the best legacies anyone can leave behind.
Reverend Father Uwakwe encouraged those, whom she left behind not to weep as those that have no hope in God but to take solace in the fact that they will see on the last day.
In their separate speeches, some children of the deceased, including Mr.
Chibueze Chukwuma and Mrs Ogochukwu Nwachukwu said that they will miss their beloved mother even as they promised to develop on her legacies and pass same to their children.
On his part, the deceased’s in-law, Pharmacist Emeka Nwachukwu, who noted that his mother in- law would be greatly missed, urged her children to toe the path of peace she laid down.
Some dignitaries that paid their last respects were former member for Idemili North and South Federal Constituency, Honourable Ifeanyi Ibezi, the traditional ruler of Amawbia, Igwe Chinyere Muolokwo, Sir Nelson Obiano, Catholic Women Organization, Ekwulobia Catholic Diocese and members of the Sacred Heart of Jesus society, Festac Town Lagos.
High points were renditions by the choir, condolence visits by friends and well wishers.
