The President women Ministry and Wife of the Bishop of Ogbaru Diocese, Mrs. Uche Amah, has called on government at all levels to take proactive measures in tackling social menace and vices bedeviling the society.

This formed part of the contents of the Presidential address, presented at the fourteenth Diocesan Women’s Conference with the theme, “The Gospel: the power of God unto salvation, held at the Good Shepherd Anglican Church Parish, Okpoko, Ogbaru council area.

Mrs. Amah highlighted that God is glorified through the gospel, which is the message of salvation and instrumentally of Holy Spirit and advised Christians not to be ashamed of the gospel of salvation.

Speaking on the state of the Nation, she stressed the need for fervent prayers, lamenting the spate of insecurity, dwindling economy, incessant cases of rape and corruption among other uncertainties jeopardizing the progress of the country.
She commended Governor Willie Obiano’s leadership and vibrant disposition as well as the level of development in the state.

The Provincial President and Wife of the Archbishop, Ecclesiastical Province of the Niger, Mrs. Martha Ibezim, who endorsed the Presidential address as a master piece, lauded Mrs. Amah for the inspiration and hard work on preaching the gospel.

Earlier in a remark, the Bishop of Ogbaru Diocese, Right Reverend Prosper Amah, expressed gratitude to the host church for the transformation and labour of love in ensuring a successful conference.
Delivering a lecture,’ The influence of a praying woman”, a resource person and President Woman’s Ministry, Aguata Diocese, Mrs. Chinyere Ezeofor, called on women to seek to know God, so as to be influential in the knowledge and hearkening in obedience to the word of God.

Adopting the sixty-five page address as a working document, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Secondary School, Dame Chinyere Mbakwe described the theme as apt.
