Wife of the Governor of Anambra State and founder of the charity-based organization, Caring Family Enhancement Initiative, CAFE, Dr (Mrs) Ebelechukwu Obiano has said that she will continue to run her NGO and touch the lives of the people, especially the poor, at the end of the present administration.
Dr Mrs Obiano stated this at the Awka South Local Government Area headquarters, while kicking off of her 2020 tour of twenty-one local government areas of Anambra State.
Correspondent, Daniel Ezeigwe, has details of the reports that the tour which has become an annual event , is an avenue for the governor’s wife to meet and interact with the people, especially grassroots women, on different socio-economic issues including health, career development, empowerment, agriculture, social and community development.
Addressing the people, Dr Mrs Obiano noted that she had put finishing touches on plans to make CAFE a lifetime charity organization that would continue to impact on lives in and outside of Anambra State.The governor’s wife who reminded the people that the coronavirus era has not gone yet, urged them to always abide by all the safety protocols against the virus.
She also appealed to parents to provide their children with facemasks before sending them to school, as well bottles of water and hand sanitizers.
The Majority Leader and member representing Awka South One at Anambra State House of Assembly, Pharmacist Nnamdi Okafor, as well as his Awka South Two counterpart, Honourable Chukwuma Okoye, observed that Dr Mrs Obiano is using her life and position to make memorable difference in the lives of the poor and is attracting God’s eternal blessings along the way. UPSOT In her speech, the Anambra State Commissioner for Social Welfare, Children and Women Affairs, Lady Ndidi Mezue, said that Dr Mrs Obiano’s selflessness resonates in her unwavering dispositions toward the less privileged in and outside Anambra State.
Also speaking ,the Principal Secretary to Governor Willie Obiano, Sir Willy Nwokoye, noted that Governor Willie Obiano’s performance in Anambra State remains a solid example of selfless and committed leadership of which his wife has played immense role.
On his part, the Transition Committee Chairman of Awka South Local Government Area, Mr Leo Nwuba, praised the governor’s wife’s doggedness in her humanitarian course, adding that her kindness has added a lot to the success of the present administration in Anambra State. UPSOT The Governor’s wife also used the occasion to distribute foods and educational materials to the less privileged women and school children from the nine communities that make up the local government area.
The Special Adviser to Governor Obiano on Chieftaincy Matters and Community Affair, Mrs Vera-Queen Okonkwo, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Indigenous Medicine and Herbal Practices, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim, the Special Assistant to Governor Obiano on Inter-party Affairs, Chief Ben Obi, the Transition Committee Chairman of Oyi Local Government Area, Engineer Nnamdi Nwadogbu, wife of the National Chairman of All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Mrs Mary Oye, the Chairman of Eke-Awka Market, Chief Jude Agumadu, among other dignitaries were at the event.
Dr Mrs Obiano shall continue her tour tomorrow at Orumba North and South Local Government Areas.
