Anambra state Head of Service, Barrister Harry Uduh has affirmed that Governor Willie Obiano has kept faith with the promises he made to civil servants in the state.
Barrister Uduh was speaking during the latest edition of ‘Meet The Media’ interaction held at the Jerome Udoji Secretariate Complex, Awka.
Government House Correspondent, Ejike Abana reports that the Head of Service explained that his office is in charge of evaluation, grading, handling of petitions, and all matters concerning Anambra workers and recalled that on assumption of office, Governor Obiano promised fifteen percent salary increment without prompting, workers’ mass transit scheme, prompt payment of salary and leave allowances, among others, noting that the Governor has done all these and would still do more.
Barrister Uduh said the Governor has also maintained cordial government and labour relations, integration of the community of persons living with disabilities into the civil service scheme, payment of minimum wage, regular capacity building programmes for workers , among others.
Barrister Uduh commended members of the organized labour for their maturity and sense of responsibility which he said has made his job easier.
He called on civil servants in the state to always see anybody who appears before their table as a customer who should be accorded all the respect in line with the civil service rules.
