Eternal Sacred Order of Cherubim and Seraphim, ESOCS, Awka Province has organized a Bible quiz competition for youths, aimed at instilling morals, values and positive way of living a Christian life.
The program, which is third in its series, was sponsored by the Senior Apostle, Charles Onyechi of Mount Horeb, Umuike Awka.
Religion correspondent, Amaka Chibuzor-Okoye reports that the event, held at the Provincial Headquarters in Awka, saw candidates from Mount of Joy Nibo, won the senior and junior categories of the quiz.
Speaking at the event , Senior Apostle Onyechi, who said he was inspired to organize the program to promote evangelism and serve God as many have gone astray, explained that with the quiz, children will read, understand and abide with the tenets of the Bible as well as live a positive life.
The Chairman of ESOCS Church, Awka Province, Senior Apostle David Onuoha, affirmed that they have benefitted so much from the program as it avails them the opportunity of getting themselves acquainted with the issues of the church.
In their separate speeches, Special Senior Apostle Tony Ossy-Udoh and Special Senior Apostle Dr Chidi Aniagor described the quiz as a foundation and basis for evangelism, calling on every church to go back to Sunday school where children will learn, grow in confidence and shun social ills.
Lending their voices, Professor Timothy Mogbo and Sir Joseph Nwakpadolu while charging churches to do more work in terms of promoting morality, portrayed the quiz as academic knowledge of the Bible.
The event climaxed with the donation of one hundred and fifty pieces of Bible to the Province by Senior Apostle Onyechi.
