A delegation from the Igwe in Council of Ukpo community has tendered
unreserved apology to the Assistant Inspector General of Police AIG in
charge of Zone 13, Mohammed Danmallam, over the allegations peddled
against him on the social media by one of their sons Mr. Izuchukwu
Nwabueze.
The delegation was led by a onetime Secretary to the State Government
in Anambra state Chief Okwuchukwu Ezeaku.
Correspondent Ngozi Obileri reports that Chief Ezeaku while briefing newsmen after a closed door meeting with
the AIG where they presented the apology letter and a letter from the
traditional ruler of the Community, Igwe Robert Eze and the entire
Igwe in Council, dissociated the town from the actions of the said
Izuchukwu whom he said has soiled their name.
He advised everyone to disregard all that have been posted on the
social media, describing such stories as fake and unfounded.
Responding, the AIG appreciated the Ukpo cabinet members for toeing
the path of truth and said that the man in question has been paraded
and charged to court.
Mr. Danmallam regretted the actions of Mr. Nwabueze and urged the
people to always verify information and be sure of any situation that
warrants financial transactions before making any payment so as not to
fall prey to fraudsters.
