Normalcy is returning gradually in Anambra state after some weeks of unrest across the state and Nigeria in general as a result of the highjack of the youth’s peaceful protests by hoodlums.

This was observed when the ABS visited some commercial and public places in the state.

Correspondent, Emmanuel Okonkwo reports that at the commercial banks, it was witnessed that transactions have started in earnest, also the ATMs are now dispensing cash unlike a week ago when reverse was the case.

At Eke Awka market, traders and their customers were seen going about their normal businesses.

While at parks, full commercial activities were on, as passengers troop in to journey to their various destinations.

Speaking on the development, a Community Leader in Awka, Comrade Obi Ochije-Muodilim who is also a Special Assistant to Governor Willie Obiano on Community Liaison while commending the youths for making their grievances known to both the state and federal government through a peaceful protest before it was highjacked by hoodlums which resulted to looting, and wanton destruction of properties, encouraged the youths and leadership of all communities in Anambra state to guard government properties in their areas from being vandalized by the hoodlums.

Comrade Ochije-Muodilim extolled Governor Willie Obiano for actions already taken towards fulfilling the demands of the Anambra youths during their peaceful EndSARS protest as well as his prudent and humane disposition in handling the issue when it was highjacked by the hoodlums.

For a trader at Eke Awka market, Mr Chukwunyelu Okeke the activities of the hoodlums in the state after a peaceful protest by genuine youths of the state is uncalled for, and should be tackled by youths of all the communities in the state.

Mr Okeke however called on the federal government to address the issues raised by the youths during the peaceful protest.
