Elections into Local Councils Football Association have been successfully concluded by the Anambra State Football Association, ANSFA, Electoral Committee, headed by Reverend Father Obinna Dike.
The election, which was held at the Retreat Centre Okpuno, attracted delegates from various local councils, football administrators as well as an official from the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Joshua Onoja.
Out of the twenty-one local councils football Associations in the state, elections were conducted in eighteen councils, while three councils of Oyi, Nnewi North and Anaocha were put on hold.
According to Reverend Father Dike, candidates, who indicated interest for the three local councils chairmanship positions were disqualified for the contest.
He, then, commended ANSFA Caretaker Committee for assisting and providing support services needed to successfully carry out the assignment.
Reverend Father Dike enjoined them to abide by their campaign promises, work with opponents and stakeholders to take football to the next level in their localities within the next four years.
Swearing-in the newly elected officers, Barrister Godwin Madubuko, who administered oath of office on the new executives said the exercise was in fulfillment of the laid down constitutional provision.
