The remains of late Iyom Patience Nneoma Obiegbunam has been laid to rest in her country home Obeagu Nri in Anaocha local government area of the state.
The burial mass which took place at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church Nri, was presided over by the Auxiliary Bishop of Awka Diocese Most Reverend Jonas Benson Okoye.

Such was the case of late Iyom Patience who lived only sixty-seven years on earth but impacted meaningfully to those around her.
Widowed at the age of thirty-five with her four children, two boys and two girls, lost her sight in 2009, also suffered diabetes and was later diagnosed with cancer in 2017 before her death in London.
Despite her major health challenges, Iyom Patience didn’t give up hope as she touched lives by being benevolent to both her community and beyond.
It was this act of hers that made many leave their different activities to honor her.
Speaking during the burial mass Rev father Patrick Okafor charged Christians world over to constantly live their best as death could come calling.
Father Okafor charged the children to uphold the legacy passed down by their late mother.
Describing the live their late mother lived, the first son of the deceased, Chief Ikemba Obiajulu Obiegbunam and his brother Chief Dr Kelvin Obiegbunam said their mother was a fighter who fought to live regardless of her many health issues saying that they would miss her absence.
Also the first daughter of the deceased Mrs. Adaobi Onuorah and an in-law to the deceased Chief Sam Nnebedum eulogized their late mother praying God to grant her soul eternal rest.
Present at the burial ceremony were the senator representing Anambra central senator Uche Ekwunife, Chief Elijah Onyeagba, Traditional ruler of Nri and Enugwu-ukwu kingdom Igwe Ralph Ekpeh, Presidents general from other communities amongst others.
There were also internment, cultural display by men from Arondizuogu, dance by Catholic Women Organization of St Mary’s Catholic Church Nri and Aba respectively, condolence visits by in-laws, friends and well wishers.
