Governor Willie Obiano has commiserated with the Ibenta family of Umuokpala village Akpu in Orumba South Local Government Area, on the demise of their Wife, Mother and Aunt, the Late Lady Grace Ibenta.
Late Lady Grace I who died at the age of sixty-two, was until her demise a staunch member of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, and the state Woman Leader of the party.
Governor Obiano who spoke through his Deputy, Dr Nkem Okeke described the late Lady Grace as a zealous APGA member who throughout her life time fought for the good of the party and women folk and prayed God to console those she left behind especially the APGA family.
The Governor however assured Ndi Anambra of adequate security of life and property throughout this Yuletide and beyond.
Earlier in a homily, the Catholic Bishop of Okigwe Diocese, Most Reverend Solomon Amatu reminded Christians of life after death and asked them to always live righteously in order to inherit the kingdom of God.
Among dignitaries present at the event were the Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Right Honourable Uche Okafor, Secretary to the State Government, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu, Member Representing Orumba South at the state House of Assembly, Honourable Emmanuel Nwafor, Senator Victor Umeh, among others.
The event also attracted members of APGA family including the State Chairman of the party, Sir Norbert Obi, Catholic and non Catholics, as well as the clergy including Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Reverend Paulinus Ezeokafor, Auxiliary Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Reverend Jonas-Benson Okoye, and that of Ekwulobia Diocese, Most Reverend Peter Okpaleke.
