Anambra State government through the Ministry of Basic Education has commenced distribution of radio sets to selected rural communities in some nine Local Government Areas in the State, that rarely have access to Internet and electricity, to enable them tune to the Anambra teaching on Air program.
The first phase of the distribution was done in three Local Government Areas of Nnewi South, Orumba North and Orumba South, and each received over two hundred radio sets.
The Commissioner for Basic Education, Professor Kate Omenugha in company of Chairman ASUBEB, Chief Patrick Ugboaja, Education Secretaries, Director of schools, and Board members of PPSSC, disclosed that education friendly Governor, Chief Willie Obiano, want Teaching on Air program to be sustained.
