The journey of priesthood has been described as a call filled with expectations, sacrifice, challenges and endowment.
A visiting priest , Reverend Father Chetanna Chukwuneke stated this at the Chapel Of Good Shepherd, Retreat Center, Okpuno during a special mass to mark Reverend Father Martin Anusi’s Silver Jubilee of priestly ordination.
Religion Correspondent Amaka Chibuzor Okoye was at the mass and reports that Very Reverend Father Martin Anusi for the past twenty five years has journeyed in priesthood with different responsibilities involved and is presently the Director of FIDES Communications,a Catholic Diocese Of Awka producers of Newspapers and journals.
In a homily while celebrating the mass, Reverend Father Chukwuneke thanked God for the advent season of the church stating that its a time to destroy evil and sin and allow God to mould and touch lives of Christains for good.
He described the celebrant, Very Reverend Father Anusi as a vibrant and eucharistic administrator who believes in providence even as he noted that Father Anusi loves investing in the lives of the young people to change their lives positively , praying God to strengthen him the more.
In appreciation to God for his mercies and grace through the journey of priesthood, the celebrant, Very Reverend Father Anusi said the journey has been extraordinary and full of learning to enrich himself, stating that it takes courage, dedication,focus and determination to get to the height noting that his greatest challenge were the people he encountered and those who meet him.
Speaking shortly after the mass, the State Chairman Of NUJ, Sir Emma Ifesinachi praised the zeal and passions seen in the life of the celebrant, praying God to continue to strengthen him .
The mass also featured special thanksgiving by Mr Gab and Mrs Vera Okpalaeze who are marking their wedding anniversary . The Superior General, Congregation Of Sons Of Mary Mother Of Mercy, Umuahia, prayed for more blessings upon the union of the Okpalaeze family who is also the Director, News and Current Affairs, ABS.
