A call has gone to parents to strive to prevent child abuse in order to ensure a safe and fulfilled future for them.
Speaking during the inauguration of Save and Secure the Child Initiative, a civil society organization committed to stopping child abuse and molestation, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Broadcasting, Mrs. Ify Aronu- Okafor, said most child abuses are as result of the carelessness and Ignorance of adults.
She urged children to always confide in their parents and caregivers while asking adults to embolden and build the self esteem of their loved ones around them.
In his remarks, the President, Rotary Club of Awka, Rotarian Blaise Nnadozie, advised fathers to take up the responsibility of assuring children of their commitment towards protecting them at all times while urging the members of the association to ensure the realization of the objectives of the organization.
In his opening remarks, the Chaplain of Save and secure the child initiative, Mr. Kingsley Obi, said they group decided to come together as a group to raise a deep, audacious and assertive defense for the helpless abused children in Anambra State due to the alarming increase in child abuse in the society The National Champlain, Mr. Paul Anaezeofor and the President- Elect of Rotary Club of Awka, Mrs. Ngozi Nworji- Ekeh, urged families of victims to ensure early reportage of cases of child abuse to relevant authorities to facilitate Justice for them.
Highlight were the inauguration of members, presentation of certificates and drama on Justice Reform by school children.
