The Bishop on the Niger, Right Reverend Owen Nwokolo had during the 2020 Fresh Manna Conference of the Diocese on the Niger, gave the people of God a message of hope and salvation
The annual spiritual exercise with the theme” Walk In the Spirit” took place at the All Saints Cathedral, Onitsha.
Bishop Nwokolo noted that Christian life is not easy as there are many complexities, complications and challenging things in the world, which according to him, behooves on all believers to take time to study the word of God and understand same with the help of the Holy Spirit.
He said it will be practically challenging for anyone to face issues of life without resorting to the help that comes from the Holy Spirit.
Bishop Nwokolo however advised the faithful to adhere strictly to the counsel of medical practitioners on COVID-19 as the pandemic is still with the people.
In a sermon, the former Bishop on the Niger, Dr. Ken-Sandy Okeke, who spoke on the theme” Successfully Walking In The Spirit” alerted Christians on the battle with principalities, powers and the rulers of the darkness of this age saying that Christians must wear the cloth of righteousness in other to walk in the Spirit and win the battle.
Bishop Okeke reminded Christians that confession and forgiveness cleanse the heart hence the need for every Christian to purge themselves of evil to successfully walk in the Spirit.
There are prayer session, Bible expositions, family teaching and thanksgiving during the service that attracted the clergy from different parishes under the Diocese including the Sub Dean, All Saints Cathedral, Venerable Obiora Uzochukwu among others.
