Anambra State Primary Health Care Development Agency has organized end of the year party to appreciate hard-working staff and send off retirees.

The party which was held in Awka was graced by Primary Health Care Directors from the twenty-one Local Government Areas of the state, some members of the Nigerian Medical Association, government functionaries, members of the board among others.

While recounting the agency’s achievement in the year 2020, the Executive Secretary Dr Chioma Ezenyimulu said that they qualified for the 2020 Basic Health care Provision Fund which is one percent of the consolidated revenue of the federation which has made it easier for one Primary Health Care, PHC, per ward to receive funds directly from the CBN.

Dr Ezenyimulu charged other staff of the agency to emulate those appreciated for better output even as she advised Ndi Anambra to constantly keep to the COVID-19 rules especially this festive season in order to be safe.

Professor Josephat Ogbuagu Member National Institute, MIN, and also the chairman on the occasion said he is happy that the PHC agency of the state is getting more visible hence it will help people to know what they do and how to access their services.

Speaking on behalf of the retirees, a former Director Community Health Services Dr. Kanayo Onalu, thanked the organizers of the event and promised to cherish the gift of love given to them as it will spur them to do more in their different life endeavors.

The ceremony climaxed with the promotion of the launch of the ASPHCDA Newsletter performed by the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Anambra State Printing Cooperation Publishers of National Light Newspaper Awka, Sir Chuka Nnabuife, presentation of gifts to retirees and appreciation of outstanding staff of the Agency.

Present at the event were the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, Dr Emma Okafor, Transition Committee Chairman, Njikoka council area, Chief George Ozor, the former Deputy Speaker Anambra State House of Assembly and the chairman Nnewi South Local Government Area Mr Chukwudi Orizu among others.
