Youths Earnestly Seek Soludo a Political Advocacy Group of youths supporting Professor Chukwuma Soludo  held its maiden edition of festival of Nine Lessons and Carols in Awka

The event which is the first of it’s kind attracted many dignitaries, including clergymen, traditional rulers, public office holders, and other members of the public.

Praising the zealous spirit of YESS, Professor Charles Soludo represented by the Commissioner for Public Utilities, Mr.  Emeka Ezenwanne, commended the exceptional commitment and passion of the group to organizing such event, stressing that the significant impact of the Carol by the group would remain indelible.

 

The Director-General of Inter-Party Office and Senior Special Assistant to Governor Willie Obiano on Inter-Party Affairs, Chief Ben Obi, reassured commitment of upholding APGA party stronger, stating that the party will never give up the fight as it has come to stay for the wellbeing of the entire Igbo race.

For the Chief Executive Officer of Anambra State Sinage and Advertisement Agency, Chief Jude Emecheta, who revealed that this year was spurred with pandemic, urged the public to remain circumspect of their activities this yuletide season.

Underscoring the essence of the occasion, the Convener of YESS, Dr. Nelson Omenugha said that it provides an opportunity for the Christian faithful to sing carols and create the perfect celebratory atmosphere to kick start the series of activities making the birth of Jesus Christ, hence, enabling their members and Ndi Anambra feel the breeze of yuletide season.

Similarly, the Saint Peter’s Catholic Church, Nkwelle Awka, also held her 2020 Festival of Nine lessons and Carols as part of activities heralding Christmas celebration.

Speaking, the Parish Priest of the Church, Reverend Father Donatus Esiebu, said the occasion was indeed special as they appreciate the mercy of Almighty God for granting them the unique gift of witnessing yet another festival of carol.

The Chairman on the Occasion, Mr. Ekene Okeke and Chairman Angelic Voice Choir, Saint Peter’s Parish Nkwelle Awka, Mr. Tochukwu Nwanya, explained that Christmas carol is a song fiesta which defines the gaiety of the season and spirit of Christmas.

Meanwhile the ABS Heartbeat Chorale and other groups who performed at the dual occasion took the centre stage as they showcased the celebration of Christmas through their numerous sonorous carol songs.
