The Managing Director of Awka Capital Territory Development Authority (ACTDA) Venerable Amaechi Okwuosa says the Agency has revoked sixty approvals given in error in the past.
Venerable Okwuosa stated this during the recent edition of ‘Meet the Media’ held in Awka.
The ACTDA Managing Director, who said that the Agency will revoke more approvals to make way for better development in the state, pointed out that everything about the Awka master plan is in place as the agency make use of ariel photography and structural plan, which they cite before giving out approvals.
He explained that they have federal laws adopted within the state, stressing that they always make sure that roads are put in place before approvals.
While commending Governor Obiano and wife for giving the agency all needed support, Venerable Okwuosa emphasized that citing of gas plants and skids is a pressing problem confronting the state, stressing that operators of skids within gas stations have until the end of the year to remove them.
Fielding questions on how they identify and sanction erring staff members, he said that there are checks and balances in place, adding that as a result, nine of their staff were sacked, eleven sent back to the ministry and four suspended.
Government House Correspondent, Ejike Abana reports that Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. James Eze, his Deputy, Mr. Emeka Ozumba and members of the Governor’s media team attended the event.
