The leadership and members of the Association of Past Presidents General, Anambra State, APPAS, have reechoed the need for proactive, responsive, and accountable leaders among all public office holders in Nigeria.

This was the center of deliberation during the association’s last meeting for the year 2020 in Awka, aimed at fashioning a way to support the progress and development of various communities in Anambra state.

The meeting, which attracted  all the Past Presidents General from across the state, provided them the opportunity to fraternize with each other, deliberate on their collective and individuals challenges, proffered solutions and as well discussed means to assist government in fast tracking development across the state.

Speaking, the National President of APPAS, Chief Omeife Omeife congratulated members of the association for their commitment, vision and efforts in moving the organization forward and asked them to remain focused to the objective of synergizing the sister organization, ASATU, in promoting development across communities.

Contributing, the Secretary General of APPAS and past President General of Nusgbe community, Engineer Obiora Uyadi and the Public Relations Officer of the association, Chief Sunday Ozumba, also a onetime President General of Isiagu, encouraged members to work together for the betterment of the organization, and be good ambassadors.

In a remark, Honourable Valentine Ozigbo, who was a special quest at the event, extolled members of APPAS for their efforts in maintaining peace and unity in their various communities, pointing out that what Nigeria needs at the moment to end social restiveness are responsible leaders and more transparent and competent government.

Other members, who spoke during the meeting, included a onetime President General of Nri, Chief Frank Oraekie, former President General of Amanuke, Chief Shedrack Anakwuo and their Okpuno counterpart, Chief Valentine Ifejimali pointed out that the constitution must be strictly followed for the sustainability and growth of the group.
