The Traditional Ruler of Nawgu, Dunukofia Council Area, Igwe George Okaa-Onwuogu has described education as the bed rock and key component to success.

Igwe Okaa-Onwuogu stated this in his palace, Nawgu, when the principal of Gregorian College, Ogidi called on him on the poor  performance of some of his subjects in the WAEC examination sponsored by one of his illustrious son, Dr Oranu Ibekie.

Amaka Chibuzor Okoye was at the palace and  reports that Igwe Okaa-Onwuogu said education should be made number one priority as  it would broaden a child scope to gain meaningfully in life.

He pointed out that on assumption of office as the traditional ruler of the community, he noticed that many of his wards didn’t  go to school which made him to embark on aggressive mobilization to  encouraged parents to start early to mould their wards so as to channel their minds to right perspective.

The Principal of Gregorian College, Reverend Sister Joseph-Ann Anokwu extolled Dr Oranu for sponsoring their children noting that he understands the importance of education in human and community development.

In his remarks, the Presidents General of the community, Chief Nnamdi Okeke commended  their traditional ruler for his efforts noting that Dr Oranu has changed the perception people have about the community.

The Headmistress of  Primary School, Nawgu,Mrs  Gabriela Anusiobi commended Igwe Okaa-Onwuogu for his reception advising the parents to invest on their wards.

Two of the graduated students, James Mmadubuko and Chidera Nwoye expressed gratitude to the sponsor, Dr Oranu for the gesture.
