Christians have been advised to make the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ meaningful by allowing him to be born in their lives this season.

The Bishop Diocese of Niger West, Right Reverend Johnson Ekwe made the call in his Christmas message at the Bishop’s court Umueri, Anambra East.

Bishop Ekwe who stated that Christmas period is the last season in advent, noted that Christmas is all about good news, the birth of the saviour of the whole world who came to restore hope to humanity, urging people to allow righteousness and peace to prevail in all they do as he said that Christ is the prince of peace.

The Bishop said that the fact that a saviour is born calls for celebration but emphasized that the celebration should be defined in the contest of the Christian faith not a time for drunkenness, committing of all kinds of immortality and other vices in the name of celebrating Christmas.

Bishop Ekwe maintained that Christmas is capitalized with showing agape love through giving as God first loved  man and gave his only begotten son Jesus Christ to save man from sin, urging people to give out to those around them, especially the down trodden.

He thanked God for his goodness to his people this year no matter the challenges, urging Christians to be steadfast in their faith in God.
