It was an out pour of emotion as children of late Sir Paulinus Odidika , held one year in memory of their late father.

The late Sir Paulinus Odidika was the father of Mrs. Chinwe Kanu, a former staff of the ABS, and Dr. Mrs. Chioma Awuzie of Federal Polytechnic Oko.

Delivering a homily at the mass, a visiting priest reverend father Magnus Chukwu who harped on the importance of Holy family in the life of Christians, charged parents to teach their children and wards the ways of the lord, and called on the children to honour their parents in order to attract blessings unto themselves.

Reverend father Chukwu appreciated the children of late Sir Paulinus for honouring their father and keeping his legacies as he described him as a man of peace..

Speaking shortly after the mass, the first daughter of the deceased Mrs. Kanu and the second daughter Mrs. Uju Onyekwuluje, said their father’s death has left a vacuum in their lives, even as they thanked God for the unity existing among them and their siblings.

The first son of the deceased Barrister Kenneth Odidika said his father’s demise has forced fatherly role upon him as he now stays at home regularly to man the affairs of the extended family, a task which he said his father tutored him very well to take up while his wife Mrs. Azuka Odidika, regretted that her late father in law left when she least expected it.

The last child of the family Dr. Chioma Awuzie noted that losing a father is a very lonely experience for her and her siblings, but said with God by their side, they have been living in peace as their father instilled in them.

The children of the deceased later gathered at their father’s grave for a memorial prayer led by the parish priest of All Saints Catholic Church Ihiala, at their compound Umudimogo village Ihiala.
