The President-General of Nnokwa Progress Union, NPU, Barrister Emeka Maduabuchi has beckoned on industrialists and the well to do in Nnokwa to address their minds along the line of Akuluouno clarion call by Governor Willie Obiano, so as to industrialize the community and offer employment to her teeming youths.

The President General who was addressing the Annual General Meeting of Nnokwa Progress Union at Ubili Civic Centre, Nnokwa, expressed satisfaction  with the peace, unity of purpose and brotherly spirit existing amongst the people, as well as the various groups in the community.

Barrister Maduabuchi who used the occasion to explain the numerous efforts made by his administration in its first one year in office, said security and social amenities were top on their agenda and have started yielding dividends.

The President-General thanked the community for entrusting the NPU EXCO with her welfare and progress, and pledged not to disappoint them.

In his speech the traditional ruler of Nnokwa, Igwe Emmanuel Ajamma, advised the people especially youths against any form of crime, or acts capable of bringing shame to Nnokwa.

Igwe Ajamma reiterated Anambra state government’s directive on COVID -19, as well as acts of insecurity, calling on youths to take advantage of development initiatives brought into Nnokwa by her good spirited groups and individuals.

The traditional Prime Minister of Nnokwa, Chief Richard Okelu, a philanthropist, Engineer Simon Ukpaka, and Prince Charles Ezeagwu, among other participants in the meeting gave good will messages to the present town union executive, pledging to contribute variously to its development.

The annual general meeting was attended by male adults of the community as well as delegates from branches across Nigeria and those in diaspora.
