Ojoto Community in Idemili South council area celebrated the Yuletide with commissioning of road projects and other projects meant for the development of the community.
Some of the road projects were executed by individuals while others including a multi-purpose hall were built by Ojoto South Development Union, OSDU.
The commissioned road projects include, Igwe Mbamalu road, Chief Edwin Agbim and Dr Gabriel Agbim roads.
Udekwe multi-purpose hall was also commissioned and the first road built by OSDU was also named during the event after Senator Annie Okonkwo as Agunechemba Road.
Speaking shortly after commissioning the roads, the Custodian of Ojoto culture, Igwe Gerald Mbamalu attributed the rapid development of Ojoto to the friendly and secured atmosphere made possible by the Governor Willie Obiano led administration and applauded his subjects for their commitment towards the unity, peace and progress of Ojoto.
Earlier, the Member Representing Nnewi North, South and Ekwusigo federal constituency, Honorable Chris Azubogu during the event, expressed joy over the community development urging other communities in Anambra to key into the initiative.
In separate interviews, the Chairman, Ojoto South Development Union, Chief Chukwudi Mmaduabum and one of the benefactors Chief Edwin Agbim who is also the OSDU Vice Chairman, noted that selfless and humanitarian services drive home sustainable development and commended Igwe Mbamalu for given everyone a sense of belonging.
Igwe Mbamalu earlier welcomed Umu Ada Ojoto led by Mrs Nkechi Nwafor Orizu who paid a solidarity visit in his palace where they prayed for sustainable unity and progress of Ojoto.
