The people of Nando community in Anambra East council area yesterday, trooped out in their numbers to bid farewell to their late traditional ruler, Igwe Nnalue Nnaba Aghaeze during his last ovala.

The event took place at Umuezora kindred, Agbudu village Nando.

The last ovala of late Eze Nnalue Nnaba Aghaeze the fourth witnessed a large turnout of people of the community as family members, extended relations, neighbouring communities, in laws, friends and well-wishers who came to Umuezora family compound of the late Ezeodibeve the fourth.

 

His burial rites were conducted according to the tradition of the community as different cultural band groups, masquerades and groups entertained the people.

 

Members of the community including the Okpala na Ezeukwu Nando and many others, brought condolence items like drinks, wrapper, animals as well as cash which they presented to Umuezeora kindred in accordance with the culture of Ndi Nando.

Speaking at the ceremony , the first son of the deceased Prince Mmaduka Aghaeze and his first daughter Princess Obianuju Eluno, described their late father as a peaceful man who ruled with love and appreciated  Ndi Nando for according their late father his rites.

 

The last ovala of Eze Nnalue Aghaeze the fourth, paved way for the coronation of Eze Francis Emesim Aghaeze the fifth.

 

The king during his outing was flanked by his cabinet chiefs who were forty nine men and one female making them fifty cabinet members.

 

After the outing, Eze Francis Aghaeze seated in his Obi where people of the community trooped in to pay him homage.

 

Speaking to the ABS, Igwe Aghaeze thanked God and his ancestors for helping him to take over the position as the custodian of culture and tradition of his community as handed over to them by their fore fathers, praying for peace, unity and growth of his community.

 

The Traditional Prime Minister of the community Chief Amobi Anwuobi pledged that together, the Igwe and his cabinet members will join hands in moving the community forward even as he thanked Governor Obiano for the two batches of twenty million naira choose your project initiative they have benefited from  before the death of their last monarch.

 

The Palace Secretary, Chief Mark Ifeacho, expressed appreciation to the people of the community for identifying with them and said the kingship of the community is never in dispute as the Aghaeze family has been manning the leadership of the community for several generations.

In their separate speeches, other cabinet members including  Chiefs, Pius Agbasionwe and Ikechukwu Anigbata expressed their readiness to offer help to ensure that the community grow from strength to strength.
