The Anambra State government through the Ministry of Chieftaincy, Town Union and Community Matters has issued certificate of recognition to the elected executive members of the Ogbunka Development Union.
The issuance of the certificate took place at the office of the Special Adviser to the Governor on Chieftaincy and Community Matters Government House Awka
The election which usually holds every three years in Ogbunka community was again held on December 26, 2020 which brought about the emergence of new executive members  of the Development Union.
The new executive has Mr Josiah Sunday Okoli as the President General, Engineer Ikenna Okpara Vice President, Barrister Uchenna Nnebe Secretary General, Mr Chika Egbuha Assistant Secretary General.
Others are, Mr Simon Nwafor Treasurer, Mr Felix Ike, Assistant Financial Secretary, Mr Solomon Nkwoemezie Publicity Secretary, Mr Amaobi Umealor Provost One, Mr Gideon Nwankwor Provost Two and Mr Nwachukwu Onwubiko Provost Three.
Speaking after receiving the certificate, the President General Ogbunka Development Union, Chief Okoli said his mission and drive is to see to the development and peace of Ogbunka promising to carry all and sundry along.
On their parts, the Vice President Ogbunka Development Union Engineer Ikenna Okpara and the Secretary Barrister Uchenna Nnebe who appreciated their community for finding them worthy to serve, pledged to support the leadership of the union towards achieving sustainable development.
Also, some of the community stakeholders who were also present at the event, including Ichie Emma Ikedinma and Owelle Godson Obi, extolled the exemplary leadership of the Willie Obiano administration describing the election as credible, fair and acceptable by the people.
