Stakeholders have commended Governor Willie Obiano for the recruitment of one hundred and twenty fire fighters, into the Anambra State Fire Service.
They made the commendation at the Dr. Alex Ekwueme Square Awka, during the graduation parade ceremony of the newly recruited Intakes.
Describing Governor Obiano as a leader with foresight who wants the safety of his people at all times, the Anambra state Head of Service, Barrister Harry Uduh said that the new intakes will boost the numerical strength of the state fire service as well as enhance efficiency of their job.
Barrister Uduh charged the graduands to always display high sense of professionalism in discharging their duties, even as he charged them to be dedicated to duty and serve residents of Anambra state with due diligence.
The Anambra state Chief Fire Officer, Engineer Martin Agbili told the ABS that the training given to the graduands is sufficient to help them do their job with relative ease.
In their separate remarks, the President General, Anambra State Association of Town Unions, Barrister Titus Akpudo and Mrs. Chioma Mogbo from Nibo, commended Governor Obiano for the gesture which they said will help to ameliorate the level of carnage done by fire disaster.
Correspondent Chibuzor Okoye reports that the Speaker, Anambra state House of Assembly, Right Honourable Uche Okafor, the Commissioner for Trade and Commerce, Mr. Uchenna Okafor, the President, Ohaneze Ndigbo Anambra state chapter, Mr. Emeka Udodeme, government officials among others attended the event.
