The management of Federal Polytechnic, Oko, has reassured its commitment to preventing spread of the devastating coronavirus pandemic in the Polytechnic community to avoid endangering the lives of students.
Correspondent, Emmanuel Chigbata, reports that the Acting Public Relations Officer, Mr. Chijioke Ibeziakor, assured that necessary measures have been put in place in the institution to checkmate the virus and ensure safety of both staff and students.
He listed some of the measures put in place to include hand washing machine, detergents, sanitizers and running water at strategic points within the Polytechnic, as well as messages on flex banners to sensitize the people, while face mask has been made compulsory for all staff and students as well as visitors to the Polytechnic .
Mr. Ibeziakor acknowledged that the management is aware of the implications of the deadly nature of COVID-19 and prior to resumption fumigated the three campuses of the Polytechnic through its medical units.
Mr. Ibeziakor urged staff and students of the institution to strictly embrace the precautionary measures put in place to prevent the virus from spreading.
It is on record that the Polytechnic remains the first tertiary institution in the South East to manufacture a solar powered-fully automated Anti-COVID-19 machine with three compartments of sanitizer, dryer, and hand wash.
