What would have resulted into a fire outbreak was yesterday averted on Stanel World along the Enugu-Onitsha expressway by men of the Anambra Fire Service.
The fire started from bush burning in an empty landed property close to Stanel Group around eleven o’clock in the morning on Saturday 30th January 2021.
On arrival at the Stanel World, various departments were seen attending to customers while the men of the fire Service were at the empty land fighting off the said fire.
The acting Manager Stanel World Mr. Chris Oragi said that nothing can stop the twenty four hours activities at the company as the group have sophisticated fire gadgets and has strong partnership with State Fire Service.
He frowned at the online publications that Stanel World was gutted by fire and urged citizens and bloggers to always verify information before sending out to the public in order not to cause panic to the society and revealed that the company has constantly maintained low bushes around its surroundings.
Addressing newsmen, Mr. Paul Onuorah and Bitrus Auta who are staff of the Stanel World said that the company tried its best to clear up the undeveloped property which share boundary with the establishment but was surprised when they noticed flames in the area and then alerted the fire Service and made it clear that Stanel World is ever ready to fight any emergency.
Contributing, the Anambra state Chief Fire Officer Engineer Martin Agbili, recalled how he received a distress call of an ongoing fire incident which his men promptly responded to and was successfully curtailed.
He called on religious bodies, organizations and residents to always ensure twenty feet clearing of bushes from buildings especially at this harmattan period and to always reach out to the fire Service numbers for prompt response in case of any fire incident.
