Anambra State Government has set up mobile courts to try violators of COVID-19 prevention guidelines across the state.

A release signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu, advised Ndi Anambra and residents to strictly observe all COVID-19 prevention guidelines issued by the government.

It listed the prevention guidelines to include wearing of a protective facemask in public places and outdoors, maintaining social distancing at public gatherings, washing of hands regularly with soap for at least twenty seconds each time and regular use of hand sanitizers.

Others are contacting the nearest hospital when showing symptoms or feel unwell, shunning of self-medication, obeying the 9pm to 6am daily curfew currently in place and proper identification for those on essential services.

The release also ordered churches, schools, hotels, business premises, offices, markets and other public places to support government efforts to stop the spread of the virus in the state, by enforcing these guidelines.

It further stipulates that anybody convicted by the COVID-19 guidelines enforcement mobile courts is liable to a ten thousand Naira fine, community service or both.
