The Archbishop Metropolitan and Primate Church Of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, the Most Reverend Henry Ndukuba led other Anglican Bishops to celebrate with the Anglican Bishop of Ihiala, Right Reverend Professor Israel Okoye, whose daughter Chioma walked down the aisle with her husband , Frank Maduka, to exchange marital vows.
The Solemnization of the holy matrimony which took place at Church of the Pentecost, Awka was well attended by Archbishops, Bishops, the Clergy, the Political class and the Laity of the Anglican Communion as well as friends and well wishers.
Governor Willie Obiano while speaking at the marriage ceremony, applauded the church and the couple for observing the COVID-19 protocols at the ceremony.
Governor Obiano said that marriage is a thing of joy that is most memorable if witnessed by the parents of the celebrants and expressed the hope that through the tutelage of their parents they will excel in this new chapter of life.
The Governor represented by the Managing Director Awka Capital Development Authority, ACTDA, Venerable Amaechi Okwuosa wished the couple fruitfulness, good health and God’s unending love .
In a sermon during the wedding service, the Archbishop, Niger Province and Bishop of Awka Diocese, the Most Reverend Alexander Ibezim called on couples to always tolerate, advice and listen to each other for a better understanding that will lead to a happy home.
The Anglican Prelate urged them not to deviate from the good foundation their parents have established for them.
The newly wedded couple Mr. Frank and Mrs. Chioma Maduka, during their marital vows to each other affirmed their pledge to stand with each other before proving their love and commitment with wearing of rings and signing of marriage certificate.
In an interview, the Grand Commander of Anambra Youth, Chief Johnbosco Onunkwo, described marriage as a union ordained by God and prayed that God will bless their marriage.
In an appreciation, Father of the bride, Right Reverend Professor Israel Okoye, thanked guests for gracing the wedding and prayed for God’s blessing upon them.
Some of dignitaries in attendance includes the Dean, Church of Nigeria, Most Reverend Buba Lamido and a former Dean of the Church, Most Reverend Maxwell Anikwenwa.
Others are, the former Governors of Anambra state Mr. Peter Obi and Dame Virgy Etiaba as well as the Vice Chancellor, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Prof. Charles Esimone among others.
