The Assistant Inspector General of Police Zone-13, Ukpo, Anambra state Mr Mohammed Haffiz has decorated nine police officers promoted to a higher rank by the Inspector General of Police, Mr Mohammed Adamu and the Police Service Commission.
This followed directive by the IGP that all promoted officers across the country be decorated in all their places of work.
Correspondent, Ngozi Obileri covered the event which took place at the Zonal Headquarter, Ukpo, Dunukofia council area and reports that the newly promoted officers were promoted from the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police to Deputy Superintendent of Police, some others from Deputy Superintendent of Police to Superintendent of Police and from Inspector to Assistant Superintendent of police respectively.
A dressing the newly promoted officers, Mr Haffiz urged them to work according to their new posts, and ensure that they put in their best to ensure protection of lives and property of citizens of the zone.
Mr Haffiz warned that the zone will not condone any misconduct from any one no matter how highly placed adding that it is expected of them to be of good conduct at all times and to always promote the image of the police with their work ethics.
He appreciated the IGP for putting smiles on the faces of the promoted officers which he said is a means of encouraging them to put in their best in the discharge of their duties.
Responding on behalf of all promoted officers, the only female police officer among them, promoted to the rank of Superintendent of Police, Josephine Ihunwo, thanked the IGP and Police Service Commission for finding them worthy in character and deeds, pledging their loyalty and obedience to the work ethics.
