The Inspector-General of Police, Mr Mohammed Adamu, has assured that the Nigeria Police is committed to the safe rescue of all abductees in the recent attack on Government Science College in Kagara, Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State.
Mr. Adamu also revealed that the Police has deployed additional rescue assets to Niger State to support the effort by the military and other law enforcement agencies towards the rescue of the abductees.
The Inspector-General of Police noted that a joint massive search and rescue mission involving the Police, the Military and other law enforcement agencies is ongoing to ensure that all abducted persons are rescued unhurt and reunited with their families.
To give credence to the rescue operation, the Inspector-General of Police has ordered the deployment of additional tactical, intelligence and investigative assets of the Police including four units of Police Mobile Force attached to Operation Puff Adder, and the Force Criminal Investigations Department among others.
One Police aerial surveillance helicopter has also been deployed.
