South East Governors have been urged to key into Governor Willie Obiano’s Aku Luo Uno initiative to encourage Ndigbo to bring back their investments to the region.

 

Speaking to journalists in Awka, the National Chairman of Willie Obiano Support Group, Chief Jude Emecheta said time has come to bring Igbo entrepreneurship and Sense of industry to bare on the South-East Economic Sphere.

 

Chief Emecheta said South East governments should provide necessary incentives and programmes that would facilitate easy to do business approach that would encourage mass investments in the region to transform South East Zone to economic and industrial power house of not only the country but also the entire West Africa sub region.

 

He noted that Governor Obiano has already laid strong foundation to stimulate economic viability of the region with the ongoing Airport project at Umueri which he said is conveniently located to service cargo movement in the South East and South-South.

 

Chief Emecheta noted that the Airport is one key facility that would further enhance the state’s statues as first choice destination for investments with huge economic value chain that would make the state self-sustaining without relying on oil revenue and monthly federal allocation.

 

The national Chairman Willie Obiano Support Group, urged the state electorate to look beyond political party affiliation and sentiment and focus on the collective welfare of the people and future of the state in the coming Governorship election by choosing a candidate with clear vision of where he is taking the state and requisite international links to achieve the vision and consolidate on legacy projects of the Obiano administration.

 

Chief Emecheta who is also the Managing Director, Anambra State Signage and Advertisement Agency, ANSAA, noted that APGA remains very strong at the grassroot as the people have taken ownership of the party and formed strong bond.

 

In his reaction, a community leader, Chief Augustine Nwadialor said the Airport facility would have multiplier effects on Agricultural activities as more farmers would have ready market for their produce.
