Peace and security are essential ingredients for human existence. A peaceful and secure environment is critical to every society since it affects all aspects of economic and social development in a country. It is necessary for growth, development and positive changes within the societal system.
No country or community can develop or grow economically without peaceful co-existence among its population and within its borders. There are communal conflicts which are caused partly by land, boundary, and chieftaincy disputes. There are also conflicts in some places due to domination, dishonesty, oppression, marginalization, greed and exploitation.
In Anambra, such conflicts are judiciously managed and nipped in the bud by government. Indeed, the State government has recorded enormous results and viable economic progress over time through the key attribution to the positive moves of Obiano’s administration in managing conflicts.
Anambra, unarguable, is the most peaceful state in Nigeria. The magic wand the administration uses include empowerment of youths, good governance, improved education system, robust agriculture and rejuvenated infrastructure. With good means of livelihood, Governor Willie Obiano has helped to put a halt to likely come back of criminality and militancy in the state.
Above all, Akpokuedike brought peace and security. There is no doubt that peace is one of the most fundamental assets to community building, to personal growth, and to the very survival of our planet. Anambra today can boast of security architecture and an effective grassroots security under Governor Obiano’s aerial surveillance.
It is paramount, therefore, for every indigenous community member to join forces with the government by engaging in developmental projects that will help reshape communities and advance the growth and development of states and nation. Such projects includes active participation in voluntary community service and humanitarian exercises like engaging in conflict management and resolution scheme and contributing generally to good governance as well as shunning greed, exploitation and high handedness.
Peace enriches our communities and individual lives, as it directs us to embrace diversity and support one another to the fullest extent possible through caring, generosity, and fairness. This helps to provide a cornerstone for attaining a sustainable, just, meaningful, vibrant, and fulfilling personal and community life.
It is in this bid that, Anambra State government prioritized security of lives and property of Ndi Anambra with the determined effort to take all necessary steps to make sure that every Onye Anambra enjoys peace as well as live and work without fear.
That is why a special squad has been put in place to compliment the efforts of the gallant officers of other security agencies in Anambra whose hard work has kept Anambra as the safest state in Nigeria. Ndi Anambra should continue to indulge in activities that promote healthy societal values, peace and unity among one another. It is imperative that people desist from violence and confrontation and embrace dialogue at all times.
Akpokudike has, indeed, set the pace by ensuring that total peace and normalcy returned to the state after the #EndSARS protests across the country, which saw gangs attack law enforcement agents, burn police stations, vandalize public buildings, extort money from law abiding citizens and made live generally difficult for the people across the country.
Anambra state will continue to remain the safest and most peaceful state in Nigeria.
