It is often said that people’s way of life tell a lot about them. Anam people in Anambra West Local government Area of Anambra State are known for farming and fishing, but in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, Ndi Anam are known for their creativity.

 

Ndi Anam made up of about seventy percent of occupants at the UTC Shopping Complex, Area ten, Awka Street, Garki Abuja.

 

The Shopping Complex which is made up of printing, graphic designs, publishing and stationary shops, are mostly occupied by Ndi Anam who major in artistic works.

 

ABS spoke with Prince Paul Mebo, from Mmiata Anam who has been in the business of making Company Seals since 1999. He said that he has made seals for over five thousand companies over the years and has trained over seven people in the business.

 

Prince Mebo explained that he can make up to sixty seals in one day at between two thousand and six thousand naira, depending on how strong the seal is.

 

He noted that the process of seal production starts with engraving, which could be manual or by machine, and revealed that the job has blessed him immensely.

 

Also speaking, Mr. Emmanuel Ekweoba from Umueze Anam, who makes office stamp and other kinds of graphic arts, said he has been in the business for about seven years and have trained ten others who are equally doing well.

 

Mr. Ekweoba explained that he got married through the business and equally built his own house in Abuja, as according to him, skill acquisition can solve the problem of unemployment in Nigeria.
