The Archbishop, Ecclesiastical Province of the Niger Anglican Communion, Most Reverend Alexander Ibezim has charged women to promote morals, sanity and be vanguard of peace in the society.
Most Reverend Ibezim stated this in a sermon at the Cathedral Church of Saint Faith Awka while delivering a sermon during a service to mark the Mothers Sunday of the church.
Most Reverend Ibezim who is the bishop Anglican Diocese of Awka, whose message centered on “The name of the lord is a strong to war” urged Mothers to stand by God in times of challenges and advised them to understand that God do not disappoint in any situation.
He urged widows to hope in God for he is a great comforter and provider assuring that whatever that is of a burden to mothers is a burden to God.
Most Reverend Ibezim decried that most women are easily swallowed by fear due to factors relating to family problems forgetting that God is by their side.
He advised mothers to monitor movement of their children through prayers noting that most mothers do not know the activities of their children especially as it concerns social media saying that young people have gone astray and need prayers to salvage them from bad to good.
The President Mother’s Union, Women’s Guild and Girls Guild, Province of the Niger, Mrs. Matter Ibezim while advising mothers, asked them to be weary of earthly things and go deep in prayers in challenging whatever situation that is causing havoc in their lives.
While felicitating with mothers, the Special Adviser to the Governor on indigenous Medicine and Managing Director, State Oxygen Production Plant, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim noted that mothers are critical part of the society encouraging them to get themselves vaccinated against COVID-19 to help stop the spread.
The service was conducted by the wife of the Archdeacon, Cathedral Church of Saint Faith Awka, Mrs. Oluchukwu Okonkwo while display by the Girls Guild, special prayers for the mothers, state and nation added glamour to the service
