The Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese,Most Reverend Paulinus Ezeokafor says the love of God for mankind is unconditional.
Most Reverend Ezeokafor stated this in a homily while celebrating Maundy Thursday mass at Saint Patrick’s Cathedral Awka.
Religion Correspondent Amaka Chibuzor Okoye who attended the mass, reports that Most Reverend Ezeokafor noted that the mass was to commemorate the service of Christ in washing the feet of his disciples, which shows that he came to serve and not to be served.
The Prelate pointed out that God created the world with love and sent his son to come and suffer to salvage the world from all manner of slavery and sin and brought salvation unto them which is also based on love.
He called on Christians to reciprocate God’s love to their neighbours, care and protect their interest without seeking interest ,calling for cordial relationships amongst the people.
Most Reverend Ezeokafor further asked the congregation to defend their faith and draw closer to the body and blood of Christ and ensure that they join in all the feast in which the church is celebrating in commemoration of the passion and resurrection of Christ as many blessings awaits them.
The mass featured benediction, unveiling of alter and crucifix, showing the commencement of Christ’s passion.
