The People of Ihuekili village Igboukwu in Aguata Local Government Area have honoured their illustrious son and the incumbent Chairman Transition Committee for Aguata Local Government Area, Dr Eche Ezeibe for his outstanding performance in Igboukwu Community and the entire Local Government Area.

The event which took place at Ezihu Primary School field attracted people from within and outside the Community.

Correspondent, Emmanuel Okonkwo was there and reports that  in an address, the Chairman of Ihuekili Progressive Union, Mr Kingsley Ezeibe while appreciating Governor Willie Obiano for giving their son an opportunity to serve, said they decided to honour Dr Eche Ezeibe for his excellent performance since he assumed office as Council Chairman, expressing the hope that the recognition will spur him to do more.

The  President General of Igboukwu Development Union  Sir Chris Ike, Chairman on the occasion, Mr Mike Ubah commended Dr Ezeibe for making the community proud by empowering youths and women and attracting numerous development to the area, among others.

The Chairman Planning Committee of the event, Mr Anthony Anyika, who described Dr Eche Ezeibe as one of  the best Chairmen the local government has ever had, maintained  that his leadership has brought all round transformation in Igboukwu and Aguata Local Government Area at large,

In their various speeches, the State Commissioner for Health, Dr Vincent Okpala, a  front line All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA governorship aspirant in the forthcoming election, Professor Charles Soludo who were respectively  honoured with  awards  by Ihuekili village,  and former Deputy Governor of Anambra State, Mr Emeka Sibudu commended  the people of Ihuekili for honouring their son and commended Dr Ezeibe for always supporting Governor Willie Obiano administration through effective and quality representation of his people.

Speaking shortly after receiving the award, the Transition Committee Chairman for Aguata, Local Government Area Dr  Ezeibe thanked his people for such an honour and recognition, describing it as unprecedented and a call for more selfless service.

During the event, Dr Ezeibe presented a security van to Ihuekili Vigilante group to beef up the security network of the area.

The immediate past Senator Representing Anambra Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly Sir Victor Umeh, an Industrialist Chief Joseph Ezeokafor were among dignitaries that graced the occasion.
